If your soul has an untamed and insatiable curiosity for the exotic (as ours does) then likely you have had the desire to travel to CUBA.

A country that stands still in time, a postage stamp of culture insulated from the rest of the world, and “heartbreakingly beautiful” as Bourdain puts it. We travel to the island, a photographers paradise, with Ryan Neeven, a perpetual traveler and storyteller. Formally he is a travel, lifestyle, and architectural photographer based in Pittsburgh, PA and Rome, Italy.

Shaped by his travels throughout the world, his photography has a way of transporting you into the frame of the place he is exploring. Photography has taken him through 29 countries most notably a 2-month-long stint in Tanzania documenting life in Bagamoyo, Arusha, and the safari lands. After living in Rome for 4 years, his passion for Italy is evident through his photography of the country and these photographs will appear in his first-ever book that will be released this coming year. He is a regular contributor to Condé Nast Traveler, Condé Nast Traveller UK, No Chaser Magazine, WM Brown Magazine, and YOLO Journal. His imagery has appeared in international advertising campaigns, hospitality and tourism marketing, and editorial publications worldwide.

Cuban’s are perseverant, yes. Also, passionate, proud, sultry, rich in tradition, and creatively ingenious. Their kindness is infectious, music and art a form of storytelling, and rum an elixir of the gods that makes for the perfect daiquiri. Havana, the capital, is rich with architectural buildings of a bygone era, lingering facades, stunning in form and beauty, remnants of once colonial opulence. Cars from the ‘50s and plumes of smoke from hand rolled cigars off the lips of elders have vibrant presence, while outside the capital bleached out beaches and glistening shorelines contrast the islands interior of rugged terrain and tobacco fields as far as the eye can see.

Curious to immerse in this photography adventure while journeying deeper into the essence CUBA? We invite you to join this rare opportunity to visit the island through the eyes of creatives connecting by way of photography to what makes CUBA so unique. On this exclusive trip we will call Havana home – specifically the newly restored and acclaimed A/S Boutique Residence.

Our days will be rhythmic, an exquisite balance of intensive photography sessions and workshops, connecting with locals in Havana, allowing storytelling to unfold through digital, film, or videography. Our inspiration is our surroundings, soaking in the most iconic landmarks, wandering the plazas, and driving the streets from the vantage point of a classic car. While the sun dips into the horizon we tuck into acclaimed restaurants and bars, once frequented by the likes of Ernest Hemingway, often accompanied by dance and local music.
